I was at a birthday party of a precocious 14 year old. Sigh! It was a non-negotiable social contract. Anyway, the food was good and the company amusing. And it dawned on me with chilling clarity
… that here we sit, all of us, eating and drinking to preserve our precious existence and really there is nothing, nothing absolutely no reason for existing.
‘What is it like to be a human being?’, asked Sartre in Being and Nothingness. He answered that human reality consists of two modes of existence: of being and of nothingness. I wondered if there was another mode of existence; a mode in-between being and nothingness. A suspended existence. I have not found an answer and this blog chronicles my journey. And other abstractions. Indulge me.
