Sartre claims Hell is other people

Eliot, that Hell is oneself,

August 22, 2008

I was at a birthday party of a precocious 14 year old. Sigh! It was a non-negotiable social contract. Anyway, the food was good and the company amusing. And it dawned on me with chilling clarity

December 15, 2007

‘What is it like to be a human being?’, asked Sartre in Being and Nothingness. He answered that human reality consists of two modes of existence: of being and of nothingness. And other abstractions. Indulge me.
